Second album from the Swedish contemporary indie-classical duo, a year on from the sold out debut "Alone In The Bright Lights Of A Shattered Life" (which will be repressed soon).

Once more, sparse, bleak compositions take centre stage on "Feelings For Something Lost", with the piano more prominent and the overall sound more stripped down than was the case with its predecessor; dark atmospherics echoing the work of Rachels, Set Fire To Flames, Sylvain Chauveau et al.

Once again the album is the work of David Wenngren and Per Jardsell, with guest appearances from Cecile Schott (COLLEEN) on the stunning "Leaves Abstract In A Village Plunged Into Mourning" and Erik Skodvin (DEAF CENTER) on "Departures (Burning Saints For Your Own Sins)". 众所周知，本人一向下意识地抵制后摇，所以我推荐的后腰一般重点都不在后腰上，这点提请大家注意
这张吸引人的首要亮点就是：采样的大量运用 这在后腰里好像不太多见 像宣布希特勒死亡的那段著名广播；戴高乐将军的祷文；肯尼迪总统遇刺的广播；肥皂剧达拉斯里的对话等等，Decalage Controle更是整首歌都是皮卡尔教授的访谈

 

Baroqueux指遵循巴洛克音乐风格的音乐家，那么唱片名为对这些音乐家的安魂曲 表明了什么呢？开篇和结尾两首同名点题作品好像说出了些什么；其中都有一段稍许狰狞的管风琴演奏的巴洛克古典音乐段落 不过马上就会被后腰，摇滚，电声所打断；The Dallas Session这首歌是混乱放肆的萨克斯作主角；Fantasia Chez Les Ploucs 应该是最显眼的一首，中间一段极其抒情的女高音后居然出现了一段我觉得是古筝或者是韩国牙筝的独奏而且很有山水意境

 

Rien就是nothing 什么都不是什么都没有，好像这张唱片传达的意思就是这个

TAG:在今年众多大牌们持续疲软颓势的时候,beck却也在早先的五月的时候宣布今年将推出新唱片,那么对我而言这个名字也许就是06年唯一可以期待的了.期待着再次上演由光怪陆离音乐逻辑划出的"贝式音符弧线",期待着再次很享受地被他"混淆视听".更期待再次在向大家介绍他的音乐的时候酷酷地在style一栏里写上"beck"的字样.因为但凡是有粗略涉及到beck音乐的人都应该知道这这家伙的音乐在门派上的难以划定.单一的音乐风格描述往往都让我担心其失之武断.在第一张官方专集[mellow gold]以及那张令他名声鹤立的[odelay]里beck就早早地向我们显示了他所练就的eclectic(折中)大法.在folk/acoustic偏向的[mutations]和那张为伊消得人憔悴的[sea change]两张专集里beck又收敛起了他的跋扈乖张.告诉世人只要他愿意,隽永长青的调子他更是不在话下.beck这种永远追求在集思广益后自创独门武功,但又永不妥协,积极寻求变数的音乐理念让他这么多年来都一直是我的心头之好.

距离上一张[gureo]发行的时间不过一年半,beck再次为我们带来了他有史以来最多track---15首---的新专集[the information].让人惊讶于他旺盛的创作精力以及灵感不假(因为不要忘了其曾在93年到94年在K,filpside等小厂牌发行了有5张唱片之多.厂牌给予他的自由度也从另外一个侧面反映其能量充足的创作欲),但其实不然.这并非是在[guero]之后的作品.事实上这是一张在结束完[sea change]就开始着手的作品.搭档上则继续选择的是当时的制作人,老伙计的nigel godrich.两人一开始是想制作一张在[sea change]与后来发生的[gureo]之间的桥梁作品,那么现在从着张唱片来看无疑是一个圆滑稳定的过度.最初两人一手圈定的作品达40首之多.但是进一步的挑选,制作demo的前期过程这一做就是两年半.中途都节外生枝出我们去年听到的[gureo].终于在今年年初的时候,两人又进驻tandem挑选了最后20首进入"复选",进行了制作,混音.最终进入唱片的15首作品也就是我们现在所听到的.如果说在唱片的发行日程上,radiohead的[amnesiac]以及rufus wainwright[want two]是美味依旧的残羹话,那这次beck的新专集就是一记漂亮的"回马枪".

作为beck的乐迷是件幸福的事情.因为拜其"变色龙"身份所赐,人们对beck的期待都是可以是"各取所需"般多样化的.甚至对其"下一张"会发生什么事情的茫然也可以是一种幸福.因为那只能意味着惊喜连连.那么这次beck和nigel之间又会给诸位擦出怎样的火花呢.事先的访谈中nigel向beck表明想做一张以hip hop为蓝本的唱片.而beck身边的朋友也鼓励他应该多做一些rap的东西在内.但是一向非刻意模糊其音乐趣味取向的beck则好似永远摆出一副随时恭候,在音乐姿态上随遇而安的"冒险精神"面对新的唱片.对于hip hop以及rapping,beck却一直刻意地在维持一种疏离感.他也随时把那些被他音乐里这两种元素挠到痒处的人们看作对于他的一种意外的惊喜.在美国这个以嘻哈文化为根基的世界里,beck却更愿意把自己承认并看作是"一个从英格兰来的门外汉".在其以"杂交政策"为中心的音乐理论中,似乎hip hop永远只是一种手段,一个工具.而远不是最终的目的."以hip hop为平台去实现更多的可能性"似乎才是新专集中的主心骨.

如果不是之前nigel式的一手调教出的民谣风,又要是一次平稳的过渡.那么这张专集是否会是一次[sea change]与[gureo]之间的调试勾兑吗?听完新专集,给我的第一印象是这并不是简单的nigel跟the dust brothers之间的相互平衡与融合.要知道,nigel也是久经沙场的老将.电气化的作品对他来说操作起来一点都不会手生.今年颇受争议的thom yorke的那张完全电子化的专集就是在他的护航下完成的.这张专集在编曲上大量地以保留钢琴,acoustic吉他,口琴的部分作为主要力量.区别于the dust brothers主理的那些大量可以杀死人的巨型hip hop重拍.但是在节奏上却依靠运用其他的别致的percussion保留了其beck音乐中那份独有的神韵.颇有点当年电影[神辫]里最后一句台词"辫剪了,神留着"的味道.:)"elevator music"中传来重新归队的bass手JMJ蛇行般蠕动的厚重bassline.配以funk与蓝调双吉他左右.很是熟悉但又有点新鲜的beck如是亮相.大段的rappin'昭示着这也许不会是一张以song-basedd的[guero]式的重复."think i'm in love"的副歌部分里又传来beck标签式的破旧的钢琴与空灵慑人的弦乐部分.不出意外的话,我想这又是他与父亲campell的联手吧.值得一提的是这首音乐的MV是由个人的视觉首席偶像michel gondry执导的.应该算是两个人的第二次合作吧."cellphone is dead"从标题看来是beck惯有的带点神经质的幽默.曲目开篇带有latin气息的pecussion前奏旋即转入由鼓以及厚重蹦跳的电子音效部分,不消说是最让我入迷的效果---那种模糊了怀旧和先锋概念的编排效果."strange apparition"由牛角铃的percussion贯穿其中.明晃晃的钢琴则给整首作品撑出一片亮色调.是专集中为数不多的爽朗的作品.最先在itune上发行的单曲"nuasea"相信关心beck的朋友已经烂熟于心.蛮尽十足的bassline配合着那句"rock on"劲道十足.JMJ出彩的地方还出现在"the dark star"里那深不见底的扭曲延伸的乐句.回荡笼罩的电子混响,神情肃穆的弦乐,将beck最为幽暗的一面与俏皮明亮的口琴结合于一起,错综复杂的聆听经历妙不可言.嗑嗑吧吧的"1000BPM"里奇怪的音效很是具有娱乐精神.折叠的空间感与恍惚的影象跃然脑海中."movie theme"则秉承里上一张里"broken drum"美得出尘的一面.怀旧的synth音效,描绘出一副无限美好的繁星缜密的图画.标准的浪漫化的beck式作品.让人想起air等美丽电子单位.还有更多作品就不再在这里"口水多过茶".因为惊喜总是要自己去发现,挖掘的.

这是一张坚实的属于beck的专集.虽然beck保持着高发片率,但是不见其中丝毫斧凿痕迹.相反在高发篇率和专集的质量上并没有成反比.可圈可点的地方在专集里依然随处可见.我只能"遗憾"地说beck带来的惊喜还在延续...

PS:最后提一下这次唱片封面的问题.这次beck的唱片的封面将是一个空白的页面.至于内容的填充就全靠歌迷自己了:在专集内会附带上一大版的贴纸(如下图).歌迷们可以根据自己的意愿来设计.看看元素之多吧.这样以来就永远都不会出现一张相同[the information]的唱片封面.怎么样?这个idea够眩够kool吧.如果这样都不足以勾引你买张唱片的话,我想你真是闷透了:)
