TAG:不当不负责任的男人,不做轻率冒失的事情,不写囫囵吞枣的听后感.在准备这篇帖子的时候,或者说一切就绪完这以后,我必须要体会到的就是这些.

诚然这是一张很棒的唱片.在我这里都应该算地上是年度最好的后摇唱片之一．光从聆听体验上来讲,我无法不被它的音乐所一一打动,牵引.但是在准备一张帖子的时候,特别是你碰到喜欢的唱片的时候,你无法不认真对待:找资料来一一摘要,取证,核对.但是这次Red Sparowes的新唱片却给了我一个十足的难题.原本被音符激发的在头脑里形成的如潮文字却被眼前的一大堆英文资料给扰到纷乱.很简单,这张唱片牵涉到了1958年的我们背负的那段尴尬的历史.这多少有点像压在我的文字上的N座大山.虽然随后我也翻阅遍了网络试图更加深入的了解那段存在于我之前的那段历史,但是只能加剧我的不知所措.

也许别人会说那已经是一段被肃清的过去,是一段被承认的低级错误．不过请原谅我无法由此及彼地听音论政,这多少应该算是件让我觉得难受和奇怪事情---特别是要牵涉到自身的时候.但是这无疑是一首首乐曲需要我们去剖析认知的.唱片里每一个音符的引申以及内核都借由一个个长句子组成的乐曲标题开宗明义地在说明这一点.懂英文的朋友初见这张唱片的标题,我想都多少会感觉到一些什么吧.只是不曾预料到那时的饶有趣味变成了了解之后的难言之隐.甚至乐队名字本身都突然因为那个年代的故事而突然变得一股子邪性的"暧昧"起来.

因此不写暧昧的文字,不做盲目的推荐.正如不跟不清不楚的异性乱抛媚眼.这实在让我觉得之前在网上那些抢先发布这张唱片的人缺乏必要的了解,其行为欠缺稳妥.至少这不应该被描述为一张用来享用的唱片.不是要激起大家的惊诧(其实定神想想，也没有什么值得我们惊诧的),而是对我们的耳朵负责任.也许我应该释然地面对这张唱片,这是可以很简单地做到的.只是我想说的是它多少破坏了我爬格子的兴趣.shit,这该死的浮夸风，这万恶的1958

引用一下国外网站对于这张唱片的描述(比较中肯的描述,这是我想强调的是．因为我看到有些更离谱的描述)"Now on their second album they have accentuated the epic and decided to edge towards the most terrible of things, the concept album. ‘Every Red Heart…’ is based around the story of ‘the great leap forward’ in Maoist China, or specifically the time when there was a mass culling of Sparrows who were seen as pests and dealt with accordingly. Of course this was a hugely misjudged attempt and eventually led to widespread famine since the locust population went up. Each track on the album is a long passage detailing some aspect of the great leap forward, and so you could read the titles together like a story – not the best way to bat away the usual post rock criticisms.

乐队guitar Josh Graham的一段访谈:"I definitely don't want people to think that I used all of this communist-influenced imagery because we are in any way communists-or that I just thought it 'looked cool,'" Graham explains. "It was very deliberate and fits into a paralleled theme. We identified immediately with the story itself, and with the obvious connections to our band's namesake. First of all, it's awe-inspiring that any government could convince its people to follow such clearly ridiculous orders. Secondly, the [cover] art is a reflection of the methodic qualities used in Chinese propaganda. Whether glorifying villainous leaders or disastrous events, the art the government commissioned was always very delicate and beautiful."

关于乐队:Red Sparowes is comprised of Bryant Clifford Meyer on guitar (Isis),
Josh Graham on guitar (Neurosis visuals and acclaimed video director),
Greg Burns on bass and pedal steel (also of Temporary Residence dark
chamber folk sextet Halifax Pier), Andy Arahood on bass/guitar (Angel
Hair) and David Clifford on drums (The VSS, Pleasure Forever). The
album was recorded with founding drummer Dana Berkowitz (The Cignal)
and Isis bassist Jeff Caxide, both of whom relocated at the end of
2004. The sum total of its sound, however, stems more so from esoteric
melodic guitar-surrealists of the mid-80's Blast First and Too Pure
hive than the fierce realism of the aforementioned cabal of heavy-psych
rock.
